In the run-up to 19 December, the Day of the Liberation of Podgorica, two new editions have been prepared that celebrate the Capital City in a different, slower way, close to a child’s heart. Through play, illustration and storytelling, two new creative projects – Labyrinths of Podgorica: The Adventures of the Hoopoe and the Podgorica Postcards set – offer a contemporary view of the city and its symbols, connecting children, families and everyone who carries Podgorica with them.
The projects come from the creative workshops of Communication Studio Cassiopeia and Studio Ribizla, and were realised with the support of funds awarded through the 2025 Call for Co-financing of Cultural Projects organised by the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City of Podgorica.
“The Hoopoe invites children to join him on an adventure of exploring Podgorica through labyrinths that lead to some of the city’s most beautiful and important places. Duklja, Sastavci, Gorica, Block 5, Barutana, Petrović Palace and the Clock Tower become stops on a playful yet educational walk through the city. Through labyrinths, short stories and colouring, children develop logical thinking, attention and spatial orientation, while also strengthening a sense of belonging and curiosity towards the space in which they live,” says Adrijana Husić from Communication Studio Cassiopeia and editor of the Montenegrin Colouring Book editions.
Labyrinths of Podgorica is a new edition of the Montenegrin Colouring Book, bilingual and enriched with complimentary stickers, designed as a combination of play, learning and creative exploration. This colouring book brings new colours and new energy to Podgorica, and also serves as an announcement of a new concept of editions in the lead-up to the fifth anniversary of the brand that originated in Podgorica.

Alongside the children’s adventure through labyrinths, Podgorica Postcards introduce a different rhythm – an invitation to slow down, observe and enjoy small things and rituals that may be gradually disappearing. “The set of five carefully selected city motifs reminds us of Podgorica as a place of encounters, memories and everyday beauty. The postcards are intended for those who wish to send a message from Podgorica, preserve a memory or bring a piece of the city into their home. The set is made from high-quality paper with gold stamping and is available as a souvenir of the Capital City, as well as a small personal ritual of writing, gifting and connecting,” said Ana Pajović from Studio Ribizla.
Labyrinths of Podgorica: The Adventures of the Hoopoe and Podgorica Postcards together form one story: a story of a city that invites enjoyment and exploration, fun and learning, as part of a broader effort to nurture urban identity through contemporary, inclusive and creative formats.
